Inc. 1992 - 1999 Fairbanks, Alaska
Consulting ecologist: Mapped coastal salt marshes in northeastern
Alaska, using photo-interpretation and GIS mapping on satellite
imagery. Participated in botanical exploration of Lime Hills area.
ABR, Inc. 1995 - 1998
Fairbanks, Alaska
Research biologist: Participated in vegetation mapping of over
400,000 hectares, principally on two Army bases in Interior Alaska
- Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely. Collected ground data, identified
plants for herbarium specimens, developed photo-interpretation
key, delineated vegetation types on aerial photographs, edited
map production, and created text, tables and figures for reports.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
1991 - 1992 Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge Fairbanks, Alaska
Plant ecologist: Team member developing vegetation map of arctic
coastal plain from satellite data. Prepared ground data using
photo-interpretation, developed vegetation classification system
and satellite data classification system to produce a vegetation
map from LandSat5-TM data. Used Arc-Info software on Sun workstation.
Edited and authored journal articles with U.S. Fish & Wildlife
Service, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge staff. Consulted with
staff on ecological research design and interpretation of results.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service 1987 - 1990 Arctic
National Wildlife Refuge 1985 - 1986 Kaktovik & Fairbanks,
Alaska
Plant ecologist: Evaluated impacts of oil and gas exploration
on vegetation of Arctic Coastal Plain. Designed sampling programs,
directed field crews, sampled vegetation, conducted statistical
analyses, authored journal articles and reports. Major projects
included preparation of Report to Congress and journal articles,
air-photo interpretation of vegetation, endangered species searches
and development of Arctic NWR herbarium.
LGL Alaska Ecological Research
Associates 1982 - 1984 Prudhoe Bay & Anchorage, Alaska
Biologist: Prepared environmental impact studies for hydroelectric
and oil and gas development projects in subarctic and arctic habitats.
Conducted field studies, data analysis and literature research.
Participated in report and proposal writing and budget preparation.
Cory Resources Group 1986 - 1987 Fairbanks, Alaska 1984
