Required plant list for Biology 474, Plant Ecology. 188 common plants of the Alaska tundra and boreal forest. Species are arranged by growth form (nomenclature is according to Hultén, 1968; common names according to Viereck and Little, 1972, and Polunin 1960).
Most species have a unique alphanumeric code that is assigned by the USDA National Plant Data Center. The species code is listed in the tables and will link to the USDA PLANTS database. Links are provided to one or more of the following resources when available:
